Yay! Ber Months na
this is my Santa outfit from previous seasons
Hey creative community,
The Ber Months Have Arrived!
September kicks off the "Ber Months" in the Philippines, a festive period that runs all the way to December, leading up to Christmas. During this time, you can feel the excitement in the air as people start decorating and getting ready for the holidays.
Tradition and Joy Everywhere
For Filipinos, the Ber Months mean gearing up for Christmas. You’ll see homes and public places filled with twinkling lights, colorful ornaments, and all sorts of festive decor. Christmas carols start playing, and you can smell delicious Filipino treats in the air.
One of the most cherished traditions is hanging up parols—star-shaped lanterns that represent the Star of Bethlehem. These lanterns are usually made from bamboo and paper, and they come in all kinds of designs and sizes.
Adding a Personal Touch
As a Filipino, I love decorating my home for the Ber Months. This year, I decided to do something different by hanging up my Santa Claus costume on the wall. I've worn it for the past two Christmases, and now it’s a festive focal point in my home.
I even added some fake hair to the costume to make it look more lifelike. It’s a fun and easy way to bring some extra holiday cheer into the house.
Welcoming the Christmas Spirit
The Ber Months are all about family, friends, and community. It's a time for giving, sharing, and spreading joy. As we dive into the Christmas spirit, let’s remember to cherish our traditions, enjoy the simple things, and stay connected with the people who matter most.
Now, I’m curious to know how creative you’ve been with your own Christmas decorations this year. Have you tried anything unique or out of the ordinary? Perhaps you’ve created a DIY centerpiece or used unconventional materials to craft ornaments. Maybe you’ve even repurposed old items into festive decor, like I did with my Santa Claus costume. Share your ideas and inspire others with your creativity.
