Tampisaw Sa Tag-araw
Last Saturday, the thermometer reached to a sweltering 37 degrees Celsius! whew! sobrang init Faced with the relentless sun, we knew we needed a refreshing escape. So, we gathered our family including the extended ones – a lively group of 17 adults and children – and rented a stunning private resort with a picture-perfect swimming pool.
There is a rectangular pool with a cool, inviting blue surface, framed by vibrant ornamental plants instead of palm trees. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the pool transformed into a magical spectacle. Multicolored lights danced across the water, shifting from calming blue to vibrant purple, emerald green, and playful pink. The effect was mesmerizing, creating an atmosphere of pure joy.
The kids were in their element. They splashed and played with unbridled enthusiasm, their laughter echoing through the air. While they reveled in the cool water, the adults enjoyed some friendly competition with a game of Jenga, the suspense adding another layer of fun to the evening.
As the night unfolded, the overnight stay allowed us to truly relax and reconnect. We shared stories, reminisced about old times, and simply reveled in each other's company. The delicious Filipino dish I prepared, "binalot," added a touch of home-cooked comfort, making the gathering even more special.
that is me busy preparing the food
this is the binalot a cooked rice wrapped in banana leaves with your choice of toppings
This private resort getaway was more than just a dip in the pool; it was a chance to strengthen family bonds, create lasting memories, and escape the sweltering heat together. It was a perfect reminder that sometimes, the simplest things – like spending quality time with loved ones – can be the most refreshing and rewarding. We will definitely do this together again soon.
Much love,
Ally
