A day at Pran Varieties Farm

I came on a day trip from Dhaka to Pran Varieties Farm located in Kautia village of Ghior upazila of Manikganj. Anyone can visit this winter to get a taste of the rural atmosphere.

When you hear the word 'village', the image of houses surrounded by trees and vines comes to mind, and this place is exactly like that. There are houses, courtyards, a kachari house, a barn, a machang house and a cowshed. And behind the house there is a huge vegetable and mustard field.

For breakfast, we ate steaming hot steamed pitha, chitai pitha, along with various kinds of fillings, jaggery and muri, picked fresh, poison-free vegetables from the vegetable fields with our own hands, wandered through the village's methpath, mustard fields and along the banks of the Kaliganga River, and in the afternoon, we had a meal with vegetables collected from the fields, fillings, fish from the pond and chicken from the house - all in all, we spent a wonderful day in a rural atmosphere.
