I AM BACK BABY!!!

After more than two months away from my daily routine of extreme physical activity in nature, away from that flow of pure happiness, this week was the time to get back. I'm still far from being 100%. My shoulder still hurts, and it's one of those ironies of life. It wasn't on the rock, it wasn't from doing something dangerous like I always do, but it was also an injury like it almost always happens to me, in a silly accident doing everyday things, this time inside the house, taking dirty clothes out of the washing machine. It's always like that, I always get injured with silly things, but the important thing is that I'm back.

Getting on the skateboard again was like rediscovering a part of me that was dormant, that unmistakable feeling that anything seems possible.

Each maneuver I tried was a dialogue between muscle memory and the reality of the moment. None of them really came out smoothly, but my body remembered everything. Two months isn't that long. Every year I have injuries and usually take a few months off, but I never get used to it. It was my first shoulder injury in my life. I've injured almost my entire body over and over again, and so far my shoulder has been the worst, because my entire body reflects on the point of the shoulder injury. Any movement ends up, in some way, requiring the use of the soft tissues near the injury and it hurts. Mainly because, in my day to day life, it seems like I don't have an injury. But whenever I try something more extreme, focused on my natural activities, be it climbing or tricks on my skateboard, the pain appears.

But even so, I can say that I'm happy. Feeling the skateboard again is one of the best feelings in life, and being back is already worth it. Because, at the end of the day, it's not just about landing tricks, it's about being happy. And I can't imagine being happy without skateboarding.
