Ratoh Jaroe Dance from Aceh

At a glance all must have thought this dance was the famous Saman Dance. However, for those who know him may know that this dance is an identical twin of the Saman Dance. Although both are originally from Aceh.

Ratoh Jaroe dance is a harmonious blend of body movement and hands. Formation, cohesiveness and rapa'i music became the hallmark of this dance.

This dance has the meaning of praise and zikr of Allah (God). The reason, if you see the origin of his name, Ratoh comes from the Arabic Rateb and duek derived from the language of Aceh means sitting. So it can be interpreted that this dance is a medium of praise to Allah (God) is sung while sitting.

Well a little bit about Ratoh Jaroe dance, it is better to avoid our mistake it is necessary to recognize the difference between these two dances from Aceh (other than the difference of dance movement shown)
