Similar to Bitcoin, Ethereum is a distributed public blockchain network. While there are many technical differences between Bitcoin and Ethereum, the most important difference is their purpose and function.
Bitcoin offers a peer-to-peer electronic money system for Bitcoin payments or transfers. Meanwhile, Ethereum focuses its blockchain on running decentralized programs, including Ether payments or transfers.
So now we have learned that Bitcoin is primarily used for peer-to-peer electronic money transfers. While Ethereum can be used to run any application, including electronic money transfers - in the form of Ether
