Hello dear reader, thank you for popping by. In todays post I wanted to show off some of the sweetest cats and kitties... all the fury friends at the greatest little animal rescue down in Cape Town! And also to share a little about my experience at The Lucky Lucy Foundation. http://www.luckylucy.org

I, of course, took my camera with me on our visit this day and took some really fun cat portraits, I love that you can see each ones unique personality through the lens!

The Lucky Lucy Foundation is a registered non-profit in South Africa, it was created 14 years ago back in 2010 where the founders rescued a neglected pregnant doggy and decided that there was a need for somewhere for neglected domestic animals to be rehabilitated, healed and given a second chance at a happy life. This sweet dog that they rescued was tied with wire to a railway line, this lucky dog was named Lucy and so Lucky Lucy began rescuing animals from some cruel and inhumane people.

I was introduced to this little animal haven by my brother and sister-in-law while visiting them in Cape Town, they adopted their gorgeous cat from them and started supporting them ever since.

At Lucky Lucy there is the most heavenly, gorgeous "cattery". These cats who were once left and abused by horrendous people are now living the best life in paradise. When wanting to adopt a cat my brother visited the farm and spent hours in the cattery where one particular girl would not leave him alone, she would climb onto his shoulders and sit with him the entire time they were there... she ended up being adopted and spending the rest of her days with my brother and sister.

Now every time I visit my family down in Cape Town we make a day to take a trip to Lucky Lucy where we will spend time walking the doggos and then sit with these loving creatures in the cattery, getting all of the kitty-therapy from their happy purrs.

This adorable baby with white socks became my brother and sister-in-laws second adoption from Lucky Lucy, she now lives the high life with a house filled to the brim with cat toys, empty boxes, scratching posts and all the lovings.

There really is something so soothing and healing being around animals, especially cats. I know cats often come with the stigma of being stand-off and not friendly or loving like dogs however I completely disagree, cats can be just as loving and needy as any dog. I also noticed spending time in the cattery that very often, you don't choose the cat, the cat chooses you!

How on earth are there people out there that abuse animals? Just look at how sweet they are!

All around there is also the most incredible artwork which just creates such an awesome atmosphere!

One of the greatest parts about Lucky Lucy is how well the animals there are treated and live, they are so well looked after and so very loved with the cosiest beds and big enough spaces to roam and live their lives.

Are you a cat person or a dog person?

Either way Lucky Lucy does the most incredible work saving so many cats and dogs. If you are ever looking for a furry-friend life companion, I highly suggest trying to adopt, these animals just need all of the love that you can give them!
