This past Christmas season I did something that I had always wanted to try - build gingerbread houses. What is a better way to get into the festive spirit than to gather with a group of your favourite girls to put together some fun sweet ginger houses?
One friend made the gingerbread cookie bases, completed with melted sugar windows. All the rest of us brought along different sweeties and treats to build the houses. The initial building process was a lot more complex than I had anticipated but man was it fun to decorate it.
We spent hours just basking in each others company, chatting about nothing and everything while we put together our very unique structures. We all had the same collection of toppings and sweets to use however everyones house looked completely different, it was like they all matched each girls personality.
After completion I was too proud that this creation was my own, I desperately needed to capture it before breaking it apart and eating it... because why make something so magnificent and then not enjoy it?
So enjoy to photoshoot I had with my gingerbread house masterpiece!
After the sugary construction we took a dip in the pool, enjoying a cold swim in the hot South African heat of December.
So this day was the perfect way to bond, get creative, and share some good laughs together - creating memories that will last even after the sweeties have been eaten!
