What does the bible says about name? || MCGI topic review

Peace unto you dearly beloved, I hope the week has been fruitful. I'm happy to be here once again to discuss name as discussed by bro Eli. Name is something highly significant. There are many names in the Bible, some are mentioned for something honourable while others are known for something dishonourable. The names in the Bible include: Adam, Sarah, Jacob, Israel, Daniel, Mary, Judas, John and so on. These are not just names they carry meanings.

The names of individuals go a long way in the fulfilment of his destiny. No wonder God had to change some people's names in the Bible. In the book of Genesis 17:5, the name of Abram was changed to Abraham. The same way the name of Jacob was changed to Israel in the book of Gen32:28.

A careful look at these people will make us know the significance of names. None of them was able to fulfill destiny until their destiny changed . It's highly worrisome how people just name their children this day without deep understanding. Some name their children riot, danger and the likes and I wonder whether they don't know such name could have effects on them. The Bible says in the book of Ecclesiastes 7:1 that good name is better than fine ointment.

There are some names in the Bible that cannot be forgotten, either for their good or bad deeds. Even when they are long gone, there names will still be remembered. Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus, even the newborn will grow to know hear and know the names. David was a man after God's own heart, the name has not ceased from our mouth till date. Then, Jesus, a great name, wonderful, a strong tower lives forever more.

Dearly beloved, let's endeavour not to be carried away with the happenings in the world and start naming our children anyhow. Let's carefully name our children names that will glorify God and affect their lives positively.
