Best programmers world
The world of programming has gone a long way in recent years. The result has been the emergence of innovative and highly sophisticated software, some of which even surpass the imagination. But before we got to this stage, there were men and women who paved the way for us until we got to where we are today.
Below we will review the most famous programmers and what they have given us.
Ada Lovelace
10 December 1815 - 27 November 1852
You may think that programming is only millions of lines of code and high-capacity computers, but one of the pioneers of programming was a woman born in the 19th century (Ada lovelace), known as Ada lovelace.
She specialized in mathematics and worked on Charles Babbage's general purpose computer, known as the Analytical Engine.
Niklaus Wirth
15 February 1934
Widely recognized as one of the pioneers of programming, he invented and developed several popular programming languages (Pascal, Euler, Algol) and many others.
Bill Gates
18 October 1955
A list of the greatest or most influential programmers can not be completed without mentioning the founder of Microsoft and the inventor of the Windows operating system.
Although there are many opponents, but no one can deny his great contribution to the programming world.
James Gosling
19 May 1955
He holds a PhD in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University, the inventor of Java, which can be said to be the most influential programming language to date.
Guido van Rossum
31 January 1956
Have you heard of it before? Maybe not.
But you have certainly heard of the programming language invented by Python, Guido graduated from the University of Amsterdam and worked at many research institutes such as NIST, Gaithersburg Maryland, CNRI, Reston, Virginia
Join Dropbox in 2012.
Kenneth Thompson
4 February 1943
Or Ken as the hackers like to call it. He graduated from the University of California, worked for Google and developed the Go language while working there.
He also developed the original Unix operating system and a programming language called B, which is the predecessor of the famous language C
Donald Knuth
10 January 1938
He studied mathematics and received his Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology, known as the father of algorithm analysis due to his significant contribution to the analysis and computational complexity of algorithms.
Brian Kernighan
January 1942
He graduated from the University of Toronto and attended Princeton University. He co-invented and developed the Unix operating system as well as other programming languages such as AWK and AMPL.
Tim Berners-Lee
8 June 1955
A computer scientist who graduated from Queen's College, an Oxford University college, is the inventor of the Internet. He also managed to make the first contact between a user and a server using the Http protocol, and if it were not for his efforts, we would not be where we are today.
Bjarne Stroustrup
30 December 1950
A graduate of Cambridge University, the inventor of C ++, the language used by many programmers to develop many important software and other programming languages.
Linus Torvalds
A graduate of the University of Helsinki, is the least likely to be the inventor of the Linux kernel, which is the foundation of many operating systems.
Dennis Ritchie
September 9, 1941 - October 12, 2011
A graduate of Harvard University, co-invented the Unix operating system with fellow Kenny Thompson, and invented the famous programming language C, which is the basis of C ++.
