I Tried To Plant Melons Behind The House

A few days ago, I went to the mall to buy my wife's favorite rock melon, this is one of the melons that I often buy when I go shopping at the mall. Rock melon has a thick, striped or netted skin on the outside, the flesh is orange and tastes sweet and juicy. After arriving home, I tried peeling the melon and separating the skin from the seeds. I collected the rock melon seeds to plant behind the house.

Because behind my house there is still empty land maybe 7m × 7m in size, I plan to make a vegetable and fruit garden, so far I have learned to plant chilies in gallons and raise catfish also in used mineral water gallons. It's just that there are several banana trees planted but until now they have never borne fruit, until I was tired of waiting for several years for the banana tree but it still didn't bear fruit, even the tree rotted before it bore fruit

Plants need water, so behind my house there are 2 water reservoirs that have been prepared, to water the vegetables and fruit in the garden behind my house.

Finally, after 1-2 weeks, I spread the rock melon seeds in the container, this is the result: small, fresh green shoots started to grow.

Previously, I also planted seeds directly in the ground, but only a few grew large and flowered. Some were destroyed by the neighbor's chickens while still small. As a result, only three or four plants remained to bloom.

You can see that the soil behind my house is very dry, since it hasn't rained for months! What do you think should I transplant the rockmelon plant into the ground, or just leave it in the container? If it starts growing big and long, I can just set up a support for the fruit...
