Does What Goes Around Really Comes Around?
When I hear the word karma, I think of the golden rule which says and I quote; "Do to others as you want others to do to you." For me I think of karma as life's invisible balance sheet - one that cuietly records our choices, whether good or bad, I do believe karma exists, not as a mystical force waiting to punish or reward, but as a natural reflection of our actions. The energy we put out eventually finds a way to return to us, often in unexpected forms, It might not happen instantly, but somehow, life has of way of circling back to what weve done, Ive learned that doing good isn't just about earning some mystical reward; it's about creating peace within myself, When I help someone, speak kindly, or show understanding, it leaves a quiet warmth in me, That feeling - that sense of calm is its own form of good karma, It may not bring me wealth or recognition, but it gives me balance, On the other hand, whenever I've acted out of anger or selfishness, even in small moments. I can't escape the discomfort that follows, It's like an invisible weight that lingers until I make things right.
There was a time I made a choice that wasn't fair to someone close to me. I justified it at first convincing myself it didn't matter, but deep down I knew I had hurt them, Months later, I found myself on the receiving end of something similar - not as revenge, but as a lesson. That moment made me pause, It wasn't just about getting "what I deserved." but about understanding that everything we do carries ripples, Karma, to me, is those ripples returning to our shore like the ripple effect caused by the waves of the sea.
People often think karma is only about punishment - "you do bad, bad comes back." But I see it more as a teacher. It shows us that actions have consecuences, and those consecuences shape what we become, The good we do doesn't just come back as good events; sometimes it comes back as strength, peace, or unexpected kindness from others. The bad we do might return as guilt, loss, or as a reminder to change. Either way, karma keeps us grounded, reminding us that life mirrors our intentions.
I believe karma is real, but not in a dramatic supernatural sense. It's more subtle than that. It ives in our conscience, in how we sleep at night, it's how the world responds to our energy. I don't fear karma - I respect it. It reminds me to be intentional, to treat people right, and to stay aware that everything I put out there eventually finds its way back.
In the end, karma isn't just about what happens to us - it's about what happens within us. It's the unseen echo of our actions, gently returning ta remind us that every choice matters.
