It is all about the price, though. Bitcoin is useless as a currency. The whole selling point is that it keeps going up in price and it's fast-appreciating and virtually risk-free. It's the greatest store of value ever invented.

Never say risk-free, what we are seeing here is a complete paradigm shift on how money is used and regulated. its price in relation to a U.S dollar, euro, or yen or whatever is relevant right now, but it could become a point where you hold bitcoin and it backs up other crypto (like gold used to be) with its proof-of-work consensus algorithm being most secure known decentralized blockchain using energy to record, store, and backup the transactions
