Morning
Hid away one stormy night
So cloudy dark and drear’
A corner held me fast
I was taken up with fear
The lightning flashed and thunder roared
Upon my house the rain did pour
Yet I made not a sound
And in the darkness of that night
I tried to light a flame
To drive away the many fright
Till morning finally came.
The sun so radiant it gleamed
Made way through darkness thick
And cutting shadows with its beams
I woke when being made quick
But springing up from all the gloom
That threatened me that night
And only hope what once was doom
And darkness now is light
