Market Day – A Glimpse into the Livelihood
Art has a powerful way of preserving moments that words alone can’t capture. This piece, “Market Day,” is inspired by the early morning scenes I’ve grown up seeing — where livestock sellers and buyers gather in bustling local markets, bonded by tradition, trade, and rhythm.
Using charcoal and touches of pastel, I aimed to capture the intensity of the moment — from the firm grip of the herder to the texture of the ram’s horns. Each stroke tells a story of livelihood, resilience, and culture.
As a young artist, I’m constantly experimenting with composition, light, and storytelling. This piece allowed me to explore contrast and depth while staying connected to my roots.
I’d love to hear your thoughts or feedback. How does this piece speak to you?
