Noticed something odd
Maybe we really are losing some active authors lately, although the numbers themselves don't seem to have dropped too much. Either way, noticed that I've been getting a lot of views on my posts lately, a lot meaning relatively and compared to other authors.
Like I don't really consider myself that important on Hive or that my posts have been that captivating lately. Maybe it's enough to just remain active and the attention starts concentrating your way after a while.
What could it mean to see people leaving due to price dropping?
Do they only care about the value of the rewards they get right now?
Do they not think it's going to turn around, ever?
It's a bit odd to me.
While I've tried to post more often lately, partially cause it helped me keep my stake while being able to invest more money into my gaming project @holozing, nowadays it's more about growing my stake so I can finally have something to show for after a decade here and somehow always investing in the wrong things or having to sell at the wrong time.
I don't really understand why others would choose now to stop posting.
Now there's some things to say about the way the price has dropped. You could think that it's made it super easy for others to get invested which kind of is annoying. Some of us may have stayed active here and trying to grow our stake for years and they could catch up easily now with a few thousand $, that is kind of a bummer but it doesn't change that if they also wanted to start earning author rewards they'd have to spend more time to get more involved in the community and build a reputation here. Something we've already established.
I do however think that people who buy stake do have an easier time to gain trust with other stakeholders to wanna reward them more over those who are just earning without buying or those with bad looking KE's, etc. That's probably natural and common in many "pay 2 win" places, don't think Hive changes much there but Hive does still continue to spread its inflation as far as it can no matter the actions of the people behind the accounts (unless they're abusive/etc). It's just shifted a bit more over the years to favor those keeping their stake over those selling it. Which is fine, it doesn't change distribution much because those selling it are probably just giving it to people on exchanges who don't seem to wanna participate in governance or locking up their hive. So I wouldn't say it causes "centralization" more than before.
New accounts do however still get a nice welcome and focus on curation, which I am a part of trying to improve and keep going and have been doing so for years with the help of many curators in @ocd. Now is probably the best time for new authors to earn bigger amount of stake as the price of things makes it a bit harder to understand how much stake they're actually getting.
Anyway, not really sure why so many of my latest posts were top read posts on peakd these last few days, just thought I'd make a quick post about some thoughts regarding hive price and inflation rewards.
