Fontana Bembo and Ottoman Sebil
The Ottoman Sebil (Philanthropic Fountain) in Heraklion, Crete, is a historical landmark that was built in 1776 by Hadji Ibrahim Aga. It was a polygonal building with arched windows, under each of which there was a water tap. The fountain was also a place for people to meet and gather.
The Fontana Bembo in Heraklion, Crete, is a historical landmark that was built in 1552 by Capitan Generale Giovanni Matteo Bembo. It was the first fountain to bring spring water to the city of Heraklio. The statue on the fountain is of an unnamed Roman soldier.
