A 100-word Flash Fiction

I recently attended a virtual creative writers’ workshop hosted by Nicole Breit. It was a five-day workshop designed to inspire and guide writers craft a new 100-word story for each day of the workshop. Below is my piece for one of the days;

I am standing at the airport, waiting for my sister to pick me up. It’s already 6pm and the day is getting darker. It’s harmattan season and the air is dry. Regardless, I look forward to spending the Yuletide holiday with my family. I miss them so much! At 23, Christmas still remains my favourite time of the year. Finally, my sister comes with the prettiest ginger hair I’ve seen. Amidst the loud chatters and laughters from other families reuniting, my heart is filled with gratitude. I feel overwhelming joy and I know this will be my best holiday season yet!

Let me know what you think about the piece in the comment section.
