Epic Void Armor Clutch: Xulag Outlasts Quora in Gladiator Ruleset! 🔥

Good morning, warriors! This is @zusi78, it is two days left in the season — how's the grind going for you? It’s been intense for me. I’m racing in three tiers: Frontier, Modern, and Survival. Good luck to everyone as you climb the ranks!

There’s a battle I’ve been looking forward to: Quora and Xulag facing each other on the battlefield, each showcasing their abilities and fighting to win for their team. The gods of Splinterlands granted my wish in Modern Ranked — it’s Quora versus Xulag in “Are You Not Entertained?” You may ask why? Quora is an EPIC gladiator,why Xulag is a LEGENDARY gladiator.

Quora got taken out early by my magic dealers, but Xulag’s Void Armor turned him into an unkillable tank! He soaked up damage for ages and bought enough time for the team to secure the win.Absolute Gladiator masterclass.

Quick Breakdown:
"Are You Not Entertained?" ruleset lets players bring one extra Gladiator card. It turns battles into Gladiator-heavy slugfests where high-mana tanks and sustain monsters shine.

Quora Towershead is a beast: Epic Earth Gladiator, 10 mana, dual melee + magic attacks, Heal, Bloodlust, Immunity. She's a top-tier carry that usually bullies teams with self-sustain and damage output. A lot of players call her one of the strongest Gladius cards.

Xulax Nightwind (Legendary Death Gladiator) is built different for this exact scenario. High armor + health pool, and crucially Void Armor (magic damage hits armor before health). Paired with Void it makes him incredibly resistant to magic-heavy or mixed attackers like Quora. He can just sit there absorbing punishment while reflecting/thorning back damage and outlasting the burst. It would interest you to know that I have these two monsters on my gladiator deck collections. 🤗

The Battle.The total mana cost for this battle was 77 and you are to choose splinters from Earth,Life and Death. The rulesets are:

Are you not entertained:You can summon onegladiator.
Fallen Angels:You cannot legendary archons.

This is what played out;
Quora got taken out early by my magic dealers, but Xulag’s Void Armor turned him into an unkillable tank! He soaked up damage for ages and bought enough time for the team to secure the win. It was entertaining indeed!

Ambush Round. Quick attack on Quora,you just have to take her out early.

Round 3,Xulag now assumed tank position,and with its inbuilt void armor ability,he held on for is other units before he was finally taken out.

3 verus 1 situation,I already had the upper hand.

I really expected more from Quora, maybe because my opponent featured her in the tank position,maybe.

Verdict.
I used my other magic dealers to remove Quora early (since she’s a major threat with her dual attacks + heal), while Xulag’s Void Armor let him eat up magic damage safely — turning what would normally be a quick death into a long, annoying sustain that bought my team crucial time.
Even if Xulag died “much later,” he did his job perfectly: absorbing focus, wasting enemy attacks, and letting the rest of my lineup close it out. That’s exactly what a good Gladiator tank does under the Are You Not Entertained? ruleset.
