Freewrite | Rose pedals
She was my little princess. With her big brown eyes and her acute voice, asking endless and keen questions, she was my whole world. I used to take her to the park on Sundays. Few moments I enjoyed more than watching her chase the pigeons; her ponytail waving and the sun rays dancing through the strands of hair.
Maybe I was too young to carry such a responsibility, taking care of an angel like her. Just a couple of minutes of distraction separated us irreversibly. I will never forgive myself for looking away. The memory of that day, her tiny shoes pushing the rose pedals of her brand new tricycle, will be my last thought.
Thank you, @mariannewest, for another #freewrite challenge. Today's prompt is rose pedals. To learn more and take part go here.
