FIFA is launching an NFT project, powered by Algorand

FANS of FOOTBALL and NFTs REJOICE!

FIFA, the international governing body of football, has announced a new NFT project, that is quite similar to NBA Top Shot.

The project will be called ''FIFA+Collect'' and will comprise a marketplace of tokenized in-game highlights.

If you are not familiar with NFT collection platforms like NBA TopShot, just think of it as owning videos of the best plays/highlights in NFT form.

The upcoming NFT project will be powered by Algorand blockchain. This comes as no surprise as, back on May 1st of this year, FIFA had selected Algorand as their official blockchain partner.

FIFA+Collect is set to launch later this month on FIFA+, the governing body's digital content platform, and the Algorand-based NFTs will depict historic moments from previous FIFA World Cups and FIFA Women's World Cups.

Be sure to sign up as soon as FIFA+Collect launches as they plan to release a series of initial collections, with exclusive and limited-edition collections set to be released in the future.

It is important to note that FIFA+ Collect will be available in three languages (English, French, and Spanish), with several additional languages to follow.

It is hard to see this as anything but an absolute win for Crypto, NFTs, and Algorand, especially with the upcoming 2022 World Cup. The launch of this new NFT platform will expose many people to the world of Crypto and NFTs.
