Warhammer 40k - Unit Review Library 39 - Death Guard, Tallyman
Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - The Great Unit Review Wheel! post!
However, on the 26th one, I have decided that it is big enough to call this series a Library!
What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!
In this series, I will review one unit at a time, picking them randomly.
So let me spin the wheel again and see what I get:
Death Guard, Tallyman
10th Edition Index Cards
Tallyman, or more precisely Scribbus Wretch, the Tallyman likes to keep score... of sores and pox and flu and stuff...
Not really a Death Guard Character that does much damage on his own... in an army and in a squad he provides buffs!
Stats
Movement 5"
Toughness 5
Save 3+
Wounds 4
Ld 6+
OC 1
Weapons
Ranged:
Infected Plasmagun
This is the same as any other Plasmagun BUT, it has Sustained Hits D3.
This means that when you roll a 6 To Hit, you roll a D3 and add that many shots to your attack... its OK... probably something people forget about!
Melee:
This guy just has an unremarkable "Close combat weapon" which could be a knife or a stick... or in this case his book, pencil and abbacus!
Abilities
This is where the Tallyman shines!
He can lead a Plague Marine squad... and he can co-lead with someone else. So his buffs will compound with that of others.
Malicious Calculations
While leading a unit, models in that unit get +1 To Hit.
Straight out the bag, making your unit more accurate! If you had weapons that were less accurate as a trade-off for power... now you can deploy them with less risk.
The Seven-fold Chant
At the start of your turn, roll 2D6, if the result is 7 or more, you gain 1 CP!
This is immensely powerful as it gives you access to more Stratagems every turn!
I would say that 7+ is fairly 50/50 to get though so if you happen to get it 3 times in a match it was a great result... of course... he cannot do it if he is dead and it would definitely be MY intention to murder him fast!
Thank you for reading!
