Effect of the Inflation Reduction Act on the federal deficit (this is based on the old CBO score. CBO hasn't scored the recent changes).
Note: this includes the CBO's estimated revenue from enhancement of IRS resources.
It is estimated it will decrease the 2023 deficit by about $20 billion from baseline.
The CBO estimates the effect on 2023 inflation though is +/- 0.1% and negligible for 2022. The health insurance subsidies will boost inflationary pressure. The alternative minimum tax for corporations will reduce inflationary pressure.
