My truth time regarding "Beyond meat."
I actually don't COMPLETELY hate the idea of "beyond meat" type stuff. I think affordable, environmentally friendly alternatives to meat may have a positive impact on the future and, honestly, if I could eat a medium rare steak that tasted just as good, I wouldn't turn it down on principle (though we're clearly not there yet, ick).
However, I refuse to equivocate on the line that it is perfectly ethical and moral to consume meat. And, right now, I can't shake the visceral feeling that my endorsing "beyond meat" products would be surrendering to those damn vegans who foolishly conflate human life with that of beasts. Feels more like an ethical concession than an environmental investment.
So where am I at?
I want moral assurances. Because I'd be willing to support "meatless alternatives" for environmental reasons. I truly would. But if it means surrendering to those confounded vegans, then I will happily eat whoppers until cow dung melts straight through our ozone and we all die. Because I legitimately- and I TRULY mean this- would rather live in a terrible world of environmental calamity than one governed by vegan morality.
