Hola amigos hoy me hace muchísima ilusión unirme a la semana 35 del Festival de Música Tradicional VDC. Para esta ocasión, he preparado un tema que es un verdadero clásico del folklore llanero "No me corra cantinero" original del gran Vitico Castillo.

Esta canción es de esas que llegan al alma, con esa letra tan sentida y parrandera. Para mi versión, decidí interpretarla en el tono de Si menor. Pero lo más especial de este video es el acompañamiento. Tengo el honor de contar con el fondo musical del Maestro Ramón Páez en el cuatro. Escuchar esas cuerdas llaneras con tanta maestría es lo que realmente le da vida a la pieza su ejecución es impecable.

Grabar este tema ha sido todo un reto y un gusto a la vez. El festival siempre nos motiva a dar lo mejor de nosotros y no hay mejor forma de hacerlo que con música de nuestra tierra. Hello, friends! I’m so excited to be joining Week 35 of the VDC Traditional Music Festival. For this occasion, I’ve prepared a song that’s a true classic of the Llanero folk tradition: “No me corra cantinero,” originally by the great Vitico Castillo.

This song is one of those that touches the soul, with such heartfelt and festive lyrics. For my version, I decided to perform it in the key of B minor. But the most special thing about this video is the accompaniment. I have the honor of featuring Maestro Ramón Páez on the cuatro. Hearing those llanero strings played with such mastery is what really brings the piece to life—his performance is impeccable.

Recording this song has been both a challenge and a pleasure. The festival always motivates us to give our best, and there’s no better way to do that than with music from our homeland.
