Inventing to work / Inventando para trabajar ENG-ESP

Hello, good afternoon.

The saying goes that "necessity is the mother of invention," and few phrases describe reality as well as that. I recently experienced a good example on a friend's small farm, where the lack of resources wasn't an obstacle, but an opportunity to let their imaginations run wild.

Without the means to plow the land, they were forced to resort to ingenuity and whatever they had on hand. They collected parts from old engines, repurposed a disused one, and, after many hours of work, sweat, and perseverance, they managed to bring their own creation to life: a small agricultural Frankenstein that, against all odds, works!

This homemade plow not only allowed them to continue working the land, but also demonstrates that in Cuba, when the essentials are lacking, creativity abounds.

Dice un refrán que "la necesidad es la madre de los inventos", y pocas frases describen tan bien la realidad como esa. Un buen ejemplo lo viví recientemente en la pequeña finca de unos amigos, donde la falta de recursos no fue un obstáculo, sino una oportunidad para echar a volar la imaginación.

Sin medios para surcar la tierra, se vieron obligados a apelar al ingenio y a lo que tenían a mano. Juntaron piezas de motores viejos, reutilizaron un motor en desuso y, tras muchas horas de trabajo, sudor y perseverancia, lograron darle vida a su propia creación: un pequeño Frankenstein agrícola que, contra todo pronóstico, ¡funciona!

Este arado casero no solo les permitió continuar trabajando la tierra, sino que también demuestra que en Cuba, cuando falta lo esencial, sobra la creatividad.
