Mount Olympus is On Fire
It is 1:00 AM Mountain Standard Time. Mount Olympus in the Wasatch Range is on fire. This is the most dramatic fire that I've seen in Salt Lake City. I am about 20 miles away from the fire and it was burning bright. I doubt they were able to get a fire crew into the area as it is very rugged.
One can see trees exploding as the fire races up Rattlesnake Ridge in Neff Creek Canyon. The ridge is named for the inordinate number of rattlesnakes in the area.
Unfortunately my tripod is broken. I tried taking hand held photos. The bright light is trees exploding.
