Holladay Hills Construction - SLC, Utah
I was out running errands yesterday; so I decided to stop and take a few pictures of the construction taking place on the site of the old Cottonwood Mall.
The vacancy rate of Cottonwood Mall was decreasing at the turn of the Millennia; so the owners developed an ambitious project to tear down the mall and construct a mixed use facility with a high-rise apartment complex in 2008.
The people in Holladay balked at the idea putting construction on hold for the next decade.
Tired of having a large hole in the middle of town, the good people of Holladay finally approved a plan with a mixed use development that included a five story apartment surrounded by shops to be called Holladay Hills. The first picture shows the construction of the first complex.
The second picture shows the destruction of the old Macy's Store.
