As I embarked on my annual mushroom hunting expedition, my mind brimmed with anticipation. As you know, if you follow my blog, I had always heard whispers of the profound impact mushrooms can have on the human body, particularly on the gut microbiome. It was a notion that fueled my imagination, and I couldn't help but dream of the extraordinary encounters that awaited me amidst the lush forests, filled with the terpenes and alpha pinene's emitted by trees, the symbionts in the midst of a contemporary movement in the evolution of cellular intelligence. Feeling so interconnected to the mycelial network, I literally became convinced that they improve our brain function
While my search for the elusive morels proved fruitless during the early days, I stumbled upon a different treasure: Trametes Hirsuta. These marvelous specimens, with their inconspicuous appearance, lured me to uncover their hidden potential. With careful hands, I harvested them and prepared them for dehydration. Transforming them into a fine powder, I blended them with the esteemed Camellia Sinensis, the tea plant known for its countless applications in traditional and modern medicine.

Realizing the Dream
After numerous expeditions, the coveted morels finally graced me with their presence. As I embarked on two separate quests, my eyes keenly searched for their distinctive shapes amidst the verdant tapestry of nature. Yet, I had also learned an important lesson—the fallacy that morels solely flourish in the presence of aging trees. In one of my dreams, mature conifers would communicate the secrets of locating treasures in the forests. Like wise trees from another planet, their habitat always has this effect on me. Now I also embraced the youthful ash trees and elms that whispered secrets of their own. The forest had a message for me: broaden your horizons, for the marvels of mushrooms can be found in unexpected places.
Though my morel harvest this year posed a challenge, the true triumph lay in the quality time spent with friends in nature's embrace. The sense of accomplishment was far more valuable than the quantity of mushrooms discovered.
