Vertbase: Direct USD-to-Vertcoin exchange getting ready to launch
Making the unique coin more widely available through direct fiat-to-crypto purchasing will encourage adoption.
Vertcoin has made tremendous strides over the past year. The coin is, in many ways, similar to Litecoin, with a few added features (check out vertcoin.org for more details about Vertcoin's unique characteristics). As we begin 2018, a direct USD-to-Vertcoin exchange has been announced, with the goal of launching during Q1 2018.
Vertbase, a sort of "Coinbase-for-Vertcoin", will connect directly to the customer's bank account for easy purchasing and selling. This has not been as easy to accomplish with lesser known coins, often requiring users to buy another coin first, such as Litecoin, and then using services such as Shapeshift to access other coins.
Vertcoin is available on Bittrex, Poloniex, and YoBit, so any experienced crypto-trader already has relatively easy access to the coin. However, being able to directly purchase from fiat has spurred the popularity of certain coins. We witnessed this with the addition of Bitcoin Cash to the Coinbase service. Of course, Vertbase will be a considerably smaller scale operation than Coinbase, but because of Vertcoin's atomic swap capabilities - the ability to swap to other atomic-swap capable coins such as Bitcoin and Litecoin - it may offer a unique entry point for new crypto-investors as the market continues to grow in 2018.
