I enjoy the pleasant temperature and the clear air on the 599 meters high mountain, and I am testing the radio (2023.09.06)

Today I spent many hours outside. The temperature is still 22 ° C. It was around 30 °C. I put even my blanket outside. I spend much more time outside than on the internet. It is very relaxing and peaceful.

I am also testing the radio. In transmit, only in the radioamatur bands. In receive, in the entire spectrum. I listened to it for hours, and in the night I tried digital modes too. In the night (51 minutes after after midnight) I received a weather fax on 3855 kHz. It is some kind of predicton for the Atlantic Ocean, because the date on the image is tomorrow (2023.09.07).

Today we (my radioamateur friend and I) installed another antenna. A short dipole for 7 MHz. We installed it between two trees. It works both in receive and in transmit too, but I have not made a QSO with it so far. Maybe tonight or later. We will see.

My first impression is very good. The band noise in the shortwave bands is usually very low on the maintain.
