Goodbye Bittrex (2023.11.20)

Another big cryptocurrency exchange is shutting down. This time the Bittrex. Looks like 2023 is a sad year for the cryptocurrency exchanges.

I received an e-mail from Bittrex approximately 15 minutes ago that they are winding down their operations by 2023.12.04. Only the withdrawals will be possible after that date. Similarly to the BlockTrades, the Bittrex was also a big part of the cryptocurrency history.

The Bittrex was founded in 2014, so they were in the business for nine years. Almost for a decade.

2014 was also the year, when I created my first Bitcoin (BTC) wallet.

I used Bittrex multiple times in 2017 and in 2018 to trade Steem, Dogecoin, and a few other cryptocurrencies, including a small amount of Bitcoin (BTC).

If anyone is reading this post from the Bittrex team, then thank you for the many years of good cryptocurrency exchange and investing service. Nowadays I do not use Bittrex, but I enjoyed buying and selling the various cryptocurrencies on Bittrex, and I was very satisfied with it.
