Hansa Pilsner Beer Boot

### Swakopmund has many beer loving German locals and one of the fun attractions is ordering your beer in a boot glass.

Apparently a Prussian general started the trend. He promised his troops he would drink a beer from his own leather boot if they won on the battlefield. When his men proved victorious, he had a glass likeness of his boot made to spare himself the humiliation of drinking from his actual boot.

I ordered a Hansa Pilsner Draught, it is often described as the freshest form of beer. This beer on tap is brewed using only malted barley, hops and water.

Namibian Breweries manufactures the beer and at only 4% ABV it is a beer for people who love to socialize as it is light and easy to drink.

The locals taught me the trick of turning the boot around, so that the toes face your chest, otherwise you might end up with a wet shirt, as the bubbles that get trapped when tipping the glass usually bubbles up again!
