Onlyfans' "subscription-based content" system has also been a source of inspiration for other social media platforms. Recently, #Twitter launched the subscription system, Super Follow, which has the feature of working with donation logic, worldwide. Among the companies actively serving in this field, it will soon take place on Instagram. In June, Instagram's Exclusive Stories feature appeared. In this system, which has the same logic as the Super Follow feature, the content producer will be able to offer as many posts as he wishes to his followers as a subscription. Previously, application developer Alessandro Paluzzi transferred a few screenshots of Private Stories.
According to #TechCrunch's report, Instagram recently made changes to its App Store page. Added In-App Purchases section. It has been announced that a total of two different in-app purchase options are listed, 'Instagram Badge' and 'Subscriptions'. The Instagram Badge option represents the in-app badges that the company has developed to enable monetization through live broadcasting. If you like badges that are already active, you can support a creator financially by gifting them. The Badge ranges between $0.99, $1.99 and $4.99.
Although Instagram Subscriptions doesn't mention what the Instagram Subscriptions feature will do, it seems highly likely to be linked to Private Stories. Meta keeps subscription prices in the $0.99-4.99 range. As with Twitter's Super Follow feature, the full price will probably be determined by the content producer himself on Instagram.
π₯Expected to be used first in the USA
Instagram has added subscription prices to its App Store page in the US. This means that the new feature will be rolled out to American users first. Meta tests these new features to be added to social media platforms with a limited audience in general, solves the problems by using the feedback, and then presents them to the world. As the company rolls out the new feature, you'll need to subscribe to access the paid stories (which will likely also be available in other post types).
