This is a beautiful, heartbreaking book. And as I am beginning to learn, u can always count on Kristin Hannah to make you feel and live through her words.. Winter Garden is the story of a woman who lost so much and still manages to be so strong. She makes a lottt of mistakes and is so cold to her own daughters and to her own life but underlying all the frigidity is the immense pain she has gone through, the inhumanity she has witnessed..
It is the story of Vera Petronova and how she escaped the siege of Leningard and how she lost herself in the process...
