Always there, Always Me | June Week 1 Challenge

I wished for a void, but you were always there.
In a soft whisper or muffled cry,
Bringing whistling tunes or lonely chimes.

Sometimes, you sounded so sad,
Even when the sky was clear and the breeze calm.
Other times, you rattled my sanity
With frantic screams and helpless sobs.

Even when I wore my best smile,
You sneered and mocked me endlessly.
On the brightest day,
You brought gloomy clouds of doubt and rejection.

But still—
You cried with me that midnight,
When the rain refused to stop,
And the raging storm mirrored the chaos in my heart.

You—
Who vehemently tried to convince me to break free
From chains of expectation and duty.

You—
Who always put me first,
Desperately reasoning through my fallouts and defeats.

You—
Who sat beside me in silence,
When words failed,
And I was too tired to fight again.

Yet I tried to silence you, again and again—
The part of me that made me question my sanity.

But still, you remain.
Fierce.
True.
Longing to be heard.
Waiting to be freed.

Hello, I am Iris and this is my first post on this community. And it happened I saw this challenge by grimmjoe@grimmjoe which really intrigued me. I like literature and sometimes I wrote poem when things overwhelming me or words fail me and my emotions juts build up uncontrollably. I only did freestyle poem though and really enjoy reading poems as well. Greetings to all of you!
