To flag or not to flag...

As always a discussion on post rewards came up today in SteemSpeak.  The conversation gave me a sense of  deja vu, or maybe it was bad memories.

I come from Corporate America, we didn't have flags.  (downvotes)  In my world we only had words and math to try to find ways to influence others  You could say, I am "trained" to talk it out.  An idea regarding posts you feel are begging, cross moral lines or are over valued, what if you made a comment and tried to share your view?  (Just a thought)

I broke out this old rough draft..  (I never used it, and I don't remember why)

Dear Voters of this Post,
I respectfully ask you "the voters" to reconsider voting up the same Authors day-after-day.  There are other users, investors and potential investors viewing our site, thus credibility is imperative. I am not flagging, whining or attacking.  One consideration is about trusting SteemIt, our integrity and appearances.  There are many different types of valuable content, but seeing the same things, by the same authors “trend” every day, takes the fun and diversity out of SteemIt.
To the Author:
I  not opposed to your posts nor your success. Your posts add value to the platform. When bots, guilds and whales are involved it is important to gain the trust of investors.  I am not asking anyone to ban, blacklist, or attack you in anyway, just back off the daily, automated votes.

If you read this, considered it and decided to vote, excellent.  I just wanted to state the concerns in a non-confrontational way.  Everyone can use their stake or allow others to use their stake in any way they want.  Thank you for the consideration.

We are on a social platform, we could "talk" before we flag.  Or not.  :)  There is a lot of gray area between voting and flagging.
