First Come First Serve - Looks like this
*Black Friday - A Sales day in the US where prices are often greatly reduced. In this case the tie breaker is first come first serve.
Money As A Tie Breaker:
If a lot of people want something, such as 1000 people want 1 item how do we decide who to give it to?
If you hate the idea of money being the tie-breaker, please imagine an alternative. In the past I imagine strength was the winner. So if we all want the "Shiny Object", and you dislike "greed", who gets the shiny object?
Should we fight for it? (Physical Strength)
- Would hurt the weak
First Come First Serve? (Speed)
- Hurts the slow and the busy
Random Selection?
- Who and how do you facilitate that?
Price?
- Hurts the poor
What if we aren't talking about luxury items, what if the "Shiny Object" is food, water, space, shelter...
All systems have strengths and weakness, what is your solution?
Let's talk about it.
