Lumley Beach, Freetown Sierra Leone

Freetown is known for its beautiful beaches. At its heart you will find Lumley Beach, one of the busiest beaches on the peninsula. This public beach fronts the Atlantic Ocean stretching for 4km. Aberdeen is situated at the east end and Lumley to the west. It is the closest to town so it is often busy with people.

Lumely beach in Freetown is one of the good beaches in West Africa, with real potential for tourist attraction for the country. Very nice, and devoid of the usual scenes of open defecation on beaches in many West African countries. The beach is neither lonely nor over congested, so the right place for people who want fun, without the headaches of congestion with crowds.

Based on my experience Lumley is a great place. You can easily find food & drink, what you like in local food. Local food under 10,000 Leones & drinks 7,000. Nice beach. Close to the city. Lumley beach is full of people especially on Sunday or public holidays after late afternoon along with local soccer’s team.
