I don't want to talk about it, but I can't stop thinking about it. It's difficult to write about friendship when you are now missing one like Bruni who went by wonderwop@wonderwop, who has been my friend since the beginnings of the freewrite community. For the longest time Uncle Bruni, as he was referred to, was the best encourager and faithful five minute freewrite poster. He always used humor and shared his life and little fun facts about them. He conformed to the five minutes and spoke from the heart. That was what was so refreshing about him.

Then cancer struck our friend and community cheerleader. He cared so much for all of us. He always reblogged the freewrite prompt and for the 100 day challenge hosted by mariannewest@mariannewest he would check on each contestant and come to our blog to get us to post under the contest post if overlooked it. He wanted us l to win because he was just like that. Because of him, I made it all 100 days. The community taught me so much those 100 days.

Bruni loved the game Splinterlands and loved blockchain games of chance and free stuff. He collected silver and went to flea markets. He has left behind his treasures and I'm sure he won't mind and his lady and family will have them as memories. We interacted frequently, Bruni and me and he was like a big teddy bear brother. He'd tag me for free stuff and we'd take turns on one ongoing one trying to win.

I hadn't seen Bruni for some time and I've been a lot this winter between sinus infections (3) migraines and covid and sciatica but I began to worry. I looked just last week at his profile and saw no activity. I didn't have a way to contact him offline so I just prayed he was OK.

Today's prompt post confirmed my worst fears and though we only knew each other here, my heart aches for this wonderful person with so much care for everyone. God bless you Bruni and I am at least glad that you have no pain. I pray for those who are left behind to mourn for you because there aren't a lot of people like you in the world.

This is my five
minute freewrite using prompt write about friendship hosted by mariannewest@mariannewest.
