Are people disappointing?

If you feel disappointed it seldom has to do with other people or the society, but everything with your expectations.

Is it true people can be so disappointing?

Situations and even things can be? And if so, how come we keep on trying and hope next time it will work out?
Let me say first it is normal to have exspectations, especially if it is known something should be great (since society says it is, because of advertisement or our own dream for example).

The higher the expectations, the higher the risk of getting disappointed!

Those who have less or no expectations will experience less or no disappointment at all. This will make life easier and cause less stress as well.

Disappointment is a result of our own expectations!

If you have (high) expectaions of something or someone there is a realistic change you will be disappointed sooner or later. In fact, the higher the expectations the bigger that chance is.

We easily let ourselves get fooled by smooth talking and other people their opinion or... experiences.

There are people who can sell you shit as if it is a bar of gold or who are so enthousiastic you simply get infected by that as well and want to join that group of happy people.

I seldom feel disappointed.

For sure is I also seldom have high expectations of someone or something. I learned you get what you pay for, people are smooth talkers, love to brag, but also that what is called great also is a personal opinion and experiences. So I simply ask myself before I do or want or ask for something what I expect from it, what my needs are.

I do not blindfolded believe in everything or everyone. I stick to my own wants and needs. I might ask for other people their opinion and/or experiences, but it does not mean my end decision is made because of them. What is important to them might be completely unimportant to me. This way I keep my level of being disappointed low. I am responsible for my own deeds and choices, so I can only be disappointed in me (if I let fool myself by a manipulator or smooth talker or advertisement for example and did not take enough time to check it all out) or feel sad/sorry for someone. People are disappointing. Especially those who brag and make false promisses or promisses they can not keep.
