My Simple Weekend: A Sweet Discovery

Happy Monday, Hivers!!

How was your weekend?! Well, my weekends are always the busiest days of my week. 😁 But I always find time to bond and have fun with my family. Before starting my shift, I always eat snacks because I can't eat during or in between tasks. I need to get full before starting my work. 😁 This weekend, I couldn't think of anything to eat. We still had bread, cookies, and some instant noodles, but I wanted something different that day. 😂 So I asked my husband to help me find a cafe or snack house. The thing is, here in my town, most of the stores close after lunchtime every Sunday. So, this little trip of ours is quite challenging.

As expected, we went to the town center and found that most of the snack houses and cafes were closed. We kept looking until we got into a narrow alley. It was a bit dark there because most of the stores were closed and the lights were turned off. We saw this cute spot with warm lights. It's the "Cake Away" store.

We went in, and I liked the vibe. The store is small, but it is so clean and well-organized. There's a small round table near the window with 2 chairs. There was a cute watering can vase and some flowers. There's also another rectangular table close to the wall..

The storekeeper greeted us nicely. He showed us the remaining desserts they have. I saw a Biscoff cake in the fridge, but it was too big for us to finish 😁, so I checked out the smaller ones. He offered me the cake-in-a-tub. It was perfect. I took 2 of the different flavors and some chocolate-coated nuts. They also have cookies, but I didn't get any.

We didn't plan to dine in, so we took the desserts home so we could share them.

Well, that's it for my short weekend search for snacks 😁 The cake tastes great. It wasn't too sweet. The cake was soft and moist. I loved it. Will surely buy from them again next weekend. 😋
