fertility and population metrics

Spent a few minutes discussing fertility and population metrics with a group of liberals. I know... waste of time, but it's fun. It should not surprise me, but it always does... how little they know about what is happening around them. Even in conversation, they bring only emotional retorts, not arguments. One fellow commented that the world has too many humans, despite projections that first-world nations will decline in population by as much as 50% by 2100, at least without immigration from Nigeria and Pakistan. Ethnic Japanese, South Korean, and Taiwanese will be completely gone. Even India's fertility is crashing, dropping 5% every two years. Putting that in perspective, if it continues, by 2100, the population of China and India will be about 20% of current levels, and the average age will be around 60. No society can survive that.

Trust me, you don't want to know why this is happening. It isn't a popular conversation.

We've talked about this before. I make a statement and provide supporting facts, liberals respond by saying "You're stupid", but provide no facts to rebut mine. I counter with data, they reply, "That's just like a conservative!" No substantive information, just ad hominem attacks. People saw that we should try to talk about things and work out the differences, but how do you do that when the other side has no knowledge? They march around with "No Kings" signs, but when asked what they are protesting, they refuse to reply... or they say Trump is a Fascist... but offer no evidence of their opinion. Just sharing. I don't know where it goes, but I can tell you that a representative republic can only survive when operated by a literate citizenry.
