Monitoring your computer

Most of us use our computers without worrying about what works in them and what needs to be replaced. When you buy a desktop or laptop computer, if something breaks, you either return it to the service or buy a new one. Sometimes, however, if we monitor our units ourselves, we can save time and money by replacing the parts ourselves, unless it is something serious.

Below I will present three free monitoring programs and at the end I will write what you need to pay attention to and what can be a symptom of malfunctioning components.

  1. CPU Z

The first program is CPU Z to check what kind of CPU we have, its name and parameters. This is a very useful program, because there are detailed parameters of our CPU and most importantly the name of the so-called socet (here "package"), which is the type of slot for our CPU in the motherboard. Thanks to this we can buy a newer processor that fits our computer sometimes at a bargain price or in promotion.

  1. GPU Z

Similar program to the previous one . Tech Power Up provided us with a free software to check the parameters of our graphics card. In addition to providing detailed information about the installed card, please note the "Memory Type" - the value stored there will tell us what type of graphics card fits our motherboard if you buy a newer .

3 The most important HWiNFO programme 64

The program has two modes of operation that are useful to us. In the first one, the main one, we have all the components in our computer listed together with the name of the manufacturer.

After clicking the "Sensors" tab (the third one in the top bar) we get a separate table with all parameters of the components displayed, including the temperature of the processor, frame memory, graphics card or hard drives. If something on this chart lights up red, it means they have a problem with a given component. With a good description we will be able to locate the faulty component and simply buy a new one and replace it ourselves, unless the problem is with the motherboard. But such things as frame memory, disks or graphics cards and the processor are really able to replace by themselves.

If you have problems with your computer, you should first check what is the cause before you give it to the service, this way you can save time and money.
