Avoiding Confrontation is a Bad Idea- Comfront Your Situation Head On
Contrary to popular belief, confrontation isn't a bad thing. We need to meet our problems head on to make a difference and make a change. Many people are afraid of conflict and confrontation today, but avoiding your problems is not any way to make headway in life.
When you are met with a challenge, you have the fight or flight response. You can stay and hash things out or run away with the belief you will live to fight another day. This is often the way we look at things. We may also simply seek to avoid offending our loved ones, and tacitly agree to whatever feels good. The path of least resistance is often the worst path.
Instead of fleeing, we need to communicate and find the root cause of our problem. Can we compromise? Does it need to be so one sided? The next time you seek to avoid confrontation, instead take the leap of faith to explain your situation. I think you will be pleasantly surprised of the result. We are to love our neighbors and enemies, so when we have a meeting of the minds we make headway.
