Farcaster, a social network web3 app reaches unicorn status!

Hi HODLers, Hiveans and Lions,

Every Sunday, I try to set some time for myself to think briefly about the upcoming week and what goals I would like to achieve.

Usually, afterwards, I scroll the net and some news apps that I enjoy to look for interesting knowledge.

I cam across this article which shows that the Crypto Bull run probably has more legs and should keep going.

What is Farcaster?

Well, if you do not know anything about the BASE and $OP (Optimism) ecosystems, you might just have seen a few tweets about it on your crypto Twitter timeline.

Farcaster is a Web3 social network on Base. It looks like a mix between Reddit and Twitter.

Merkle Manufactory is the company behind this social network.

The lead developper between Warpcast (the favorite app/UI for Farcaster users) just announced a new round of funding which could value Farcaster at $1bn.

What got crypto users very interested in Farcaster was the addition of frames. This is a feature which allows apps to run inside posts without leaving the platform. Users were able to mint NFTs through these frames for example.

This is what Web3 users are waiting for: New features and not just Web2 copycats!

After the boom following the Warpcaster app launch and the frames feature, we can see that traffic is still elevated and a lot of people are using Farcaster on a daily basis.
