Am I the asshole for relying on US Stock Market?

Like every responsible adult who didn’t want to see their money rot away in a savings account earning 0.0001% interest, I listened to the "experts." You know the ones: the podcasts, the finance bros on YouTube, and those annoyingly confident friends and cousins at dinners. “Don’t keep money in the bank,” they all said. “Let your money work for you.”

So I did it. I started investing in the US stock market.

And for a while, it looked like I wasn’t a complete idiot. Over the past year and a half, things were finally starting to look up. Lights were Green after so many months of red.

Then came the new wave of tariffs. Trade wars. Market panic. Suddenly, I look like an asshole for believing in the most profitable, most dependable, and most sought after stock markets in the world.... was I a fool all along?

Dude, i literally was so conservative with my investments that I parked my money into most stable of the stocks and ETFs. I was not YOLOing into meme stocks or dumping my life savings into SPACs. I was careful. I diversified. I played the long game. But even that didn’t shield me from policies and global tensions entirely out of my control.

It feels like a rigged game sometimes. You do what you’re supposed to do—avoid debt, save money, invest wisely—and still get slammed because someone miles away decided to start a political shouting match with another country.

So I ask you—Am I the asshole… for believing in the US stock market?

Because right now, it kind of feels like I’ve been gaslit by capitalism.
