The senses you ignite in others sizzle.
Imagination and play are layers of protection that screens the critics into confusion.
A reckless abandonment of safety shines through.
And we only see what we want to see.
Laughter… is like a sunburn.
It peels away the mask and exposes you to the elements.
And the stinging subsides and you can start over and begin to heal for another sunrise.
This piece originally started out as a parody of Jim Carrey’s Sunshower, but morphed into an exploration of fame and criticism and having a “thick skin.”
