Pixel art was a blurry mess
Was sagt ihr dazu?

This is what graphics actually looked like on old 8-bit and arcade systems. CRT monitors were rather blurry and had visible dot masks and scan lines. It's also important to remember that at that time, there were no high-resolution photorealistic graphics as we know them today. Pixel art was therefore more of a necessity than an art form in its own right, as is the case today.
The cool thing is that today's emulators can also emulate this CRT effect, giving you a more realistic picture of what game graphics looked like back then. In addition, monitors used to be much smaller than they are today. Therefore, the graphics were not quite as pixelated as we imagine them to be today.
What do you think? Do you remember the 8-bit era, or did you discover it later? How do you like the old retro graphics?
