Shit post Friday - Rambling on Mar 22
Best laid plans...
I planned to do lots of writing this week - to make up for what has been, thus far, a disappointing month, punctuated with efforts to clean/tidy-up enough to appease the management of our apartment complex. As we are a family of four in about 700 square feet (not as well arranged as it is in England, either), struggling with lack of space, it's been a stressful time.
We thought we'd done enough Tuesday morning, but no, they weren't happy with it - unable to understand my husband's compulsion to collect computer parts in order to build machines to give away. So, more tidying, squirreling into storage before they return on Monday.
Add in...
- The birthday party for my youngest daughter (postponed due to the above...) So, a bunch of crazy girls watching movies late and making lots of noise.
- A younger member of the family disappeared for a bit earlier in the week. She's home now, but has a lot of things to work through before she drives herself to self-destruction.
- A necessary run to Rawlins (2 hours away) on Monday to meet up with another relative who is bringing some of my stuff from the Coast.
To top it off...
Today, as hubby was making one of the runs to storage when the transmission went out on the car! Suddenly, the tax return meant to buy one set of wheels is going to have to buy two! So, it's been a bit of a week.
It wasn't all bad
- I met with my young nephew in Walmart yesterday. He recently turned 6 and is very proud of that fact! That's his favorite number now. Combine that cuteness with a "please-touch" silky hair and he got plenty of Aunty attention!
- One of the nieces made it to the party today, helping to build the relationships between myself and this new extension of my family.
- It's warmed up enough to not need to use the heating much anymore. Spring in Wyoming is teasing and treacherous, but still it warms...
Anyway, I think that's it for this post... Hopefully, I'll get back to my twice-daily posts tomorrow!
